Sunspot 963 looks good

Sunspot 963, image Credit SOHO/NASA

Sunspot 963 has just rotated onto the face of the Sun. It has a beta type magnetic field, and has produced a lot of C class flares. It has to potential to produce geoeffective solar flares capable of generating aurora. Of course, on the track record of past sunspots, its just as likely to go quiet.

Space Weather has lots of great images and links, like the shots of the ISS going past sunspot 963, and of the sunspot itself as well as a great movie of the spot flaring.
